Program Objective |

This program is
designed to provide employment-ready,
comprehensively trained graduates. These
graduates have a clear understanding of Medical
Office Procedures and Medical Office
Terminology.
They will participate in the delivery of a
variety of healthcare industry tasks, including:
patient reception & customer services;
Scheduling appointments and making referrals
(both
computerized and manual); patient registration,
patient filing methods & record keeping;
supplies & inventory, correspondence & mail
processing; banking services & procedures;

Optional additional courses give them the skills to
perform tasks such as: basic dictation and
transcription; billing & collection procedures; coding &
claims processing. |

Career Opportunities |
Medical Receptionists work in
doctors' offices, hospitals, medical clinics, pharmaceutical
companies, government health agencies, retirement homes, long
term care facilities and a variety of other medical office
settings. They are integral members of the health care delivery
